Matt Shade was once a hockey star, but due to an injury, he had to leave for the position of coach. One day, his protege dies right during the game, and Matt decides to find out the cause of death himself. In the course of his impromptu investigation, he meets private investigator Angie Everett. The heroes join forces and solve the case, after which Matt realizes that he has found a job that he likes.
