Overview
The events of the series introduce viewers to the Duttons, an ordinary family of their time, barely making ends meet. The head of the family does everything to provide for his wife and children all the necessary benefits, but no matter how hard he tries, the heroes are still living in squalor, without any prospects. Realizing that this can no longer go on, the relatives leave their homeland and travel west across the Great Plains, hoping that there they can start life with a clean slate.
